Kevin Rodgers

For as long as I can remember, I have always had a love for photography. I remember a story that my mother told me about when I was a baby and I grabbed a hold of her old Kodak instamatic and and burned off an entire roll of film. My mother kept the prints and declared how mad she was at the time.  As I look back on this now, I think I was the inventor of the selfie. ;-) As a I grew older I managed to learn more and more.

I bought my first SLR camera abck in 1985 while I was stationed in England while serving in the United States Air Force. It was a Canon T70. Since that time, I wanted to take my skills to the next level to a more professional level. I bought books and studdied more about composition, lighting, ISO, f/stop depth of field, etc

After the Military I moved to New York to take on a job at a can factory that my father helped to get into. Not the ideal job, mind you. but it did pay the bills. During my free time I managed to continue my phiotgraphy. But still, only as a hobby. I enrolled in New York Institute of Photography   to learn as much as I can, until I moved back home to Florida.

All that said, there is nothing that can top hands on experience. Since my return to Florida back in 1993, I have taken on weddings, model shoots, and most recently, dance photography.

For the past year or two I have really learn to love and admire the art of dancing. I found its dynamics really raise my photography to a whole new level.  It was at a class reunion where I met up with a former classmate who introduced me to the dance school where she instructs tap. She introduced me to the director and she allowed me to shoot  several of her apprentices and from that point is what you see in my portfolio here.

So Thank you for taking time to read my bio, and I hope you enjoy browsing my images as well
